Description
The Overseas collection was launched in 1996 and was seen as a continuation of the 222, designed in the late 1970s by celebrated watch designer Jorg Hysek. By the time the Overseas was unveiled, the 222 had been discontinued for 12 years, but Vacheron Constantin imbued its new watch with the spirit of its precursor while giving it a more contemporary and harmonious look. This is most visible in the notched bezel and distinctive bracelet which ingeniously incorporate the angles of the brand’s famous Maltese cross logo. This particular model in rose gold features an exquisite blue dial with gold-framed date aperture at 3 o’clock. The exhibition caseback displays the automatic caliber 5100 with stylised 22k gold rotor.
